Outfall 44

First of all, I highly recommend not going to this outfall in the winter, the climb was dangerous in and out.
Secondly, bring rubber boots, it gets deep in some areas.
Once you're standing on the ledge of this outfall, the view of Edmonton is beautiful. Could definitely spend time there and just absorb the sites. It sits high above the river, creating the challenge to get in, and right below is a small pool before it enters the river.
Once inside you become amassed by the darkness of tunnels, flashlights definitely required.

Following the straight tunnel it quickly ends deep in millcreek ravine, covered by a large grating, there's no way out.

Taking the first right you enter deep into the pits. This is the longest part of the outfall and eventually takes you to 3 separate endings. There are a few manholes, we were unable to use them due to the amount of flow coming from them.

Later on in the tunnel there is an area that reeks of sewage, worked our way fast through that as it was quite disgusting.

At the very end of the tunnel you are left about 50 feet deep at the bottom of a pit with a ladder leading to the top. we attempted to open the grating at the top with no success due to it being frozen over.

In the end, it was a wonderful experience. Would recommend this tunnel for the more dangerous explorer.1.

P.s. Not sure how to add locations yet, if someone could explain this to me so I could that would be appreciated.

Nice picture set! As far as the DB goes, adding locations is restricted to full members.

You may still be able to add your picture set to the location page though, I can't recall if that's for FM's only or not.

Thanks guys! I'll look into adding to the dB post. Either way 44 was definitely one of my favourites and will be looking to go back one day.

Glad to finally be a part of the UER community and will be posting more as I continue my journey.

Good to see some active new blood in the area!
