The Canadian Army web site has some military history of the site. Apparently it goes back to World War I.

http://www.army-ar...n-wartime/ifwqjc9q

And this archaeological study of Stanley Park has some details on the military installations. 4 MB PDF. Info starts at page 55.

It floods with the tide, you require technical rope gear to get in and out, as a confined space it's hazardous (holy shit I sound like a killjoy in my old age), and yeah they bolted the hatch many moons ago.

I rappeled into it twice... third time I got smart and took a ladder with me. How ever you plan to access it, have someone stay outside. I say this for two reasons : 1)if you get into trouble that person can get help 2) To prevent a passerby from falling down that hole, the fall would likely kill them.

I did have a gas monitor with me everytime I have been there, always had perfect reading, but it is confined space and that environment can change anytime.

It does flood, but i dont think it is related to the tide as the ocean is much lower. I have been into the bunker when theres no water and again almost a year to the day later. At this point there was water up to my chest on the lower floor. FYI, the water in january in the bunker is bloody cold. Top floor does not usually flood.

If you plan on filming.... please get better lighting then those guys on the video. Lol

It doesnt matter how you die.
But only how you live.

If I do go there (probably won't any time soon) I'll gladly get a nice big flashlight to film also ill have to get the equipment first.

Did you know that an average human can survive a 5 story fall but still it probably won't be fun if you fell down a big hole into ice water, hitting a metal rail or whatever else is down there...

Thank you for the tips tho.

Ps probably will add this to my paper UE Journal.
