What you are looking at in this post is an Abandoned Luxury Resort I was told of this abandoned resort in 2016 by someone who follows my photography, but it's far and remote location put it very low on the priority list for me....a decision I have come to regret. In the summer of 2018 RiddimRyder, Carlo Paolozza and I took a road trip with this resort as one of our locations....within minutes of setting foot inside someone came running in barking at us and walked us out......so much for that! Fast forward some time and I am on a solo road trip hitting spots all over the province and this location is on my hit list. I have a solid plan for exploring the abandoned resort undetected and this plan includes a sleepover. So, at the end of a very long day driving and exploring from morning until night, what a better way to end the day than by sleeping in the executive suite of this abandoned resort. This location dates back to the early 1900's and peaked in popularity through the 80's. it closed sometime around 2010 or 2011. The resort was placed up for sale and was purchased in early 2016, now, 2 years later there has been very little done. My faux Trip Advisor review of my stay at the resort: I arrived late at night needing a place to sleep on a cold night, there were no lights on, there was no one at the reception and almost all of the doors were locked, very strange. The first thing I noticed after checking myself in was the heat seemed to be turned off, so being very cold I went down to warm up in the hot tub or the heated pool, but they were both empty. The gym needs some serious upkeep as there are pieces of the ceiling all over the treadmill and equipment None of the TV's worked in any of the rooms and I could not call room service because there were no phones! Also a huge issue here is the lack of wifi, free or otherwise! I had to use my cell phone as an alarm because there was no power so the clock didn't actually work....i ended up sleeping in because my phone died since I could not plug it in and charge it. Positives: it was very quiet and i basically had the whole place to myself, except for the raccoons that i could hear scurrying about in the ceiling. I had an excellent sleep since it was so quiet, but i had to use extra blankets as it was very very cold!! The view is to die for! When I tried to pay, there were no people around to accept my money, so my stay must have been comped by ownership

One of my favourite locations used to be about 2 km west of this- went to check it out about a year ago to this day, and it was gone. Went to this place, got screamed at immediately!

hahahah they really waste NO time in coming after you. First time we were dumb and just parked in the lot with all the other cars. Lady saw our gear and came in screaming as we were just getting out our gear!

Very cool find. Any idea on what came of the development proposals for the hotel? I know a similar abandoned resort near Barrie went through the same thing and developers are slowly working at turning it around.

We ended up at this place last year because of the place across the road, but it was late in the day so we did a very half-assed explore of both. Went back the next week to spend the day at both, and it was gone. It was very rough when you and I were there back in 2010/2011, it was basically ready to fall over last year. While I was living in the area, the resort was still active which was ~2009. Even then it looked a little rough.

Yeah, I remember having the "is it abandoned" discussion about it a couple of times!

Great work as always Freak! Props for spending the night. Every creak and groan of the building, for me anyway, would have been a g-g-g-ghoooost!

The caretaker here was really nice, but I was staying at the resort next door sonchecking it out was easy.

I wonder if the owner is actively selling off the items leftover from the initial buy-out. It didn't seem like it when I visited but I can't imagine people stealing a whole dining table set... Great job documenting the place - did you make it to the associated business complex next door? Definitely a cool place, sucks they're pushing to demolish it.

No, I got here late the night before and focussed my morning on getting the resort done, I was pretty wiped from a crappy sleep plus the snow storm that way was making my drive home look rough.

Well, I've made hour long hikes, bike rides, been dropped off, dressed up in jogging gear, road-worker gear, real estate agent gear, I've gone purposefully in blizzards, thunderstorms, and at 4:30 am... but I must say, I've never stayed the night to get the upper hand on exploring a place! I'm confused with the first photo: there does not seem to be any cloves of garlic. How else did you defend against attack from orbs?

Hahaha thanks man, given that this was location 1 on day 3 it just seemed the perfect place to stay the night and the best way to get my day started. Plus, the way in faced the active condo's behind the resort so it all played out perfectly. As for the orbs, I had to improvise and I destroyed a Little Caesars Hot & Ready plus Crazy Bread (yes I brought it in with me), so there was no shortage of garlic in the room LOL!!!

I'm just gonna say this. Roll the mattress in any non abandoned hotels/resorts and you tell me that you haven't see the EXACT stains while browsing UE
Is this reality or my memory getting mileage? Am I staring at the sun or blood vessels in my eyelids |

Really cool and unique. Reminds me more of a Bed and Breakfast type Resort. Smaller and more homey with quaint little places to visit around the property or down the road. Nice! Enjoyed your pics.
