Sudbury Explorers

Hey Northern Ontario Folks,

I'm wondering if there's anyone still on here located in and around Sudbury. Looking back through the forum there seemed to be a pretty active group maybe 10 years or so however since then the only things I've been seeing are visits to Burwash. I'm wondering if there's anyone around who'd be interested in exploring some places in and around Sudbury. I've been flying solo lately and exploring is almost always more fun in a group.

Sault Ste. Marie here.

I usually don't go further east than Iron Brige. But I have been known to squeeze some exploring in around Sudbury when I'm passing through.

Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.

There's a lot to see around Sudbury. I haven't even really left the city yet with all the abandoned stuff around here. Definitely plan on exploring along 17 though. Just driving along there shows the vast amount of abandonments.

Is the visible Sudbury presence that used to exist here gone then?

A lot of the explorers in the area from ~10 years ago have moved/started families/don't explore/aren't active here anymore.

Depending what you're into, there's definitely stuff around. If you're into houses, we've got plenty, particularly around Greater Sudbury. A lot of the more industrial stuff in the area is gone/reactivated.

The downside up here is stuff can be fairly spread out, so you end up losing daylight quickly at this time of year just in travel time.

I'm up around Wawa May - September-ish. If anyone's interested in heading up a little further north for some exploring, give me a shout

Unfortunately I finish school in April, so I'm probably moving on in May.

I don't really go out much and like to stick to lower-risk explores, but I'm interested if we can figure out something that works. I'm about an hour and a half west. What's the deal with Burwash anyways? I discovered it on Google Maps one day but then found the website where the owner asks for admission. Do people still manage to get in the ol'-fashioned way?
