the 2005 Ranger extended cab 4x4 I bought my nephew three years ago met an ignominious end this morning at the hands of a reckless driver from North Carolina. The schmuck went blasting through a yield sign entering a roundabout and nuked the passenger side of the Ranger going better than 40mph. He almost rolled it on to its side. As a result, the bolts for the box sheared, the frame twisted and the cab is warped beyond repair. It goes to a copart in Albany NY early next week for evaluation, but two body guys and a mechanic already looked at as a favor to me and they all agreed, the truck twisted and rusted beyond repair. well, we had a good run with it.

wouldn't pass inspection in New York. the frame is bent and she is just crispy enough underneath where its not worth fixing.

as much as I hate to say it, that truck really gave us no trouble. The kid never checked any of the fluids, never filled it up past half, and just kept driving it. Kind of sad it ended the way it did.
