In 1955, the mine closed and half the town put down their tools and left, including my Grandfather. The once loud buildings now stand in a permanent moment of silence.

This song always reminds me of this place, or vice versa:

Thanks!
On the sides of the bin were notes about how the flow of raw coal moved through the bin. Corrosion has started to make it harder to read, unfortunately.
"Dust bins are build... ...from our..."
"This bin is always full when it is idle and always empty when the..."

The bins were filled with chunks of clean and dry coal, that would immediately be crushed after leaving the bin and mixed with pitch before being pressed into briquettes.

These are my favorite kind of site. Where it either shut down long enough ago or wasn't really updated in it's later years with electronics, plastics, and bright colored signage that betrays it's age. One consistent dated aesthetic!

Nice set!
