A relative recently told me about an interesting spot they drove by in the middle of nowhere. After some hard research, I was only able to find 3 things: 2 pictures (1 dating back to 2010, and 1 dating back to 2014), and a short but informative paragraph describing what this place was. It was used in World War II as a brothel & gambling house, and was then owned by a wealthy family until the 80's. The property lost value as the local wells were infiltrated with sea water. It would supposedly be a very valuable property if the area had a new supply of water. I made the semi-long trek here, only to find.. not quite what I was expecting to find. The property looked extremely different than the photos I had seen. As I got closer, it became obvious that the place is being fixed up for a new owner. This was a slight disappointment for me, as there was now little historical remnants to be seen. Through the 2nd story windows (the only realistic POE's at this point) all I could see was hardware equipment. Knowing me, I probably would have managed my way in there regardless, but there were alarm notices posted everywhere & a couple in their car facing me in the distance. I believe the construction has been abandoned, at least temporarily, due to the amount of hornet nests on the property, including one on the construction trailer (which was boarded up.. a new sight for me). I still did manage to get some nice 35mm shots of the architecture while wandering around the property, though. The first shot is one I found from 2014, the second one is me trying to get a similar angle this week. 1.

I found that spot like a year ago, and there were several pick up trucks on the property, with workers standing around chewing the fat. It sure does look neat!

I don't think any one is working on that house if its been sitting like that for years. Maybe its more of a local hangout spot for workers to come and kill time and hide from the boss?

Thank you sharing Damn right now it's one dog ugly house... the before pic is interesting. Wonder what it looks like inside? Is there purpose to the madness? Lol, a brine well is one way to get rid of the grass wuvers
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. | |
Too bad that its been worked on but who knows, if the new construction fell through, nature could do its thing. Hopefully you can swing back through some time and get an update.

I've looked at this spot a couple of times and it doesn't seem to change much. Looks like someone worked on it and then abandoned the project. Would be cool to get inside.
