I have been watching this Abandoned Church for between 1 and 2 years waiting for my chance to explore her and see what she looks like inside, to see what surprises are held behind those old brick walls. I had tried everything I know to get access to this large old historic church and never was I able to get inside.
On a random work night I would take a drive just to see if maybe today would be the day…but that day never came. RiddimRyder and I tried twice to get permission, both times with no luck.
Then….2 days after we tried getting permission we saw that someone had posted photos from inside the church…..they beat us to it, but that’s okay….I just wanted in.
On a tuesday afternoon I headed to the site to confirm it was true, and it was. I was finally inside and wandering the halls and the sanctuary and the balconies of this beautiful old church that had denied me for so long.
It didn’t take me more than 5 minutes to find my way to the bell tower, i climbed 2 flights of stairs, then up a rickety old ladder where I was finally near the belfry. The first level contained the contraption used to pull on the cables that activated the bells…this is called a carillon.
From this level, I had to climb another tall rickety ladder to access the hatch into the belfry, but as soon as i opened the hatch I had to back away as the pigeon feces was thick and the last thing I need is do die of Histoplasmosis, Cryptococcosis or worse. I would have to come back with my respirator.
I would climb her three times, I was surprised to find that the carillon was still there and in such good condition as most of the churches contents have been sold off in an auction.
In the belfry, the heavy bells are dated 1913 and built in Baltimore MD by the McShane Bell Foundry. I learned tonight that the old bells have been sold to a church in Cincinnati.
They will probably come down once the demolition starts and they dismantle the tower.
Great work as always, Freak. I am not religious at all, but churches are some of the most beautiful buildings built anywhere. Even as a non-believer, I feel like those bells should be saved and displayed somewhere.....

Re: Church Built in 1925, Now Vacant Awaiting Demolition - Pic Heavy <Reply # 3 on 8/27/2018 3:48 PM >
Good call with the pigeon shit Freaktography, I've was nailed by it when I was 22, sick as a dog for 5 weeks. Nasty flu like/with fever, in your lungs shit... the longest infection I ever had, far worse than Lyme's disease.
The bells and carillon room are magnificent. If I've ever seen it here before on UER it's been years. Well done
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.
This place has been all over Instagram lately... Great photos, I never noticed how nice they look on UER compared to IG's file compression.
I thought this church was one local to me, but double checked the photos to newspaper article images from when it closed and no match.
So many vacant/"abandoned" churches lately. Part of me is sad that such beauty is being wasted... But another part of me is like "yay the downfall of religion!"
we can only hope oh my god at least you dont live in the south with geezus holy christ!!!

As usual, congrats on waiting it out for so long and finally getting the opportunity. I'd say this is about the best that Ontario has to offer in terms of churches. Really interesting place.
#50 made me chuckle a bit. With the trays in the corner, it almost looks like some kind of confinement room. That's where they broke the altar servers down until they were willing participants.
