Nice...I did a couple explores near here a couple weeks ago. I'm thinking of checking this place out this week. Assuming you've been there recently, how much construction is going on at this site? I'm hoping they haven't progressed too much, might make it a wasted trip.

This video was taken about a year ago. Last time I drove through the buildings were still there but they are going to be taken down. Be careful in the building most far away from Babcock (the one right in front of the under pass/tunnel) we ran into a homeless (drug addict) man in one wing of it. You will know by how the smell changes and they try keep door to that wing blocked. Have fun be safe!
I saw a lot of workers near that area...worth a try I guess. Maybe I'll take an orange vest just in case! Thanks for the warning, I know in the old state hospital north of Babcock, I went upstairs and at one point heard a door slam...I froze, heard it again with a rustling sound (could've been the wind but at that point, why press my luck) so I made that my GTFO moment. Babcock was awesome, but the floors are questionable at best...but I made it into the dome! I'll keep an eye out for your videos and pics (I tend to do pics only), and will hopefully get some shots of mine on here soon. Thanks for your response and advice...you have fun and be safe as well! ☺

I go in at night with friends for fun and as a sorta guide or I go just before sunrise to get great light for pics & vids. Would that have been the old TB Center you went to out by DHEC? Thats a cool place too. Subscribe to my channel I update often. Luv exploring!
I'm not sure if it was a TB center or not, I think it was a state hospital...it has a large open air courtyard in the middle with some hopscotch squares...some of the decor was geared towards (and possibly made by) children. There's a nice looking pianer in there too (and lots of squatter evidence). It's actually just north of the stadium, which is north of Babcock. I love exploring too, wish I'd started doing it 20 years ago! Lived in KCMO then, but abandonments would surely be easy to find there too!

That guy has been there a long time! I ran into him several years ago. These buildings give me such a bad vibe, I cannot imagine living there....

I was exploring these buildings a couple weeks after Coddiwompler's warning, and while I had no real issues (but a bad vibe indeed), upon approaching the north building, the air was VERY strong with...pee smell. I went in keeping an eye and ear open for signs of life. Got some decent pics, but within 10 minutes I heard doors slamming and shuffling, so I made for the Po...GTFO...never did see anybody, but I'm fairly certain someone was in that building. Gotta agree with you, I understand being down and out and desperate, but I can't much fathom staying in a place like that...
