For my part, I explore for the experience that I can draw from it. I also explore to meet the challenges presented to me.

When I started, I was doing surface mines, abandoned or not. Long before, I always loved nature and I was always passionate about urban climbing. When I started climbing in the wilderness, I realized my potential. I also realized that you don't give yourself up if you know you don't risk anything. I then started to climb without rope. I was never afraid of the void. Even today, I'm not afraid of the void. However, without considering my current physical limits, if there is one thing that I would not do, it is to jump into the void when it is not necessary. This is my limit. I would never put myself in danger just to follow or to impress. For infiltrations, I infiltrate everywhere without problem. The point is, I may reconsider if there are dogs. I'm not talking about cats, huh.

Anything that is currently occupied, and or hazardous. No houses that are still occupied, almost nothing that still has electricity. I worry about silent alarms etc so I try to avoid anything recently abandoned or closed up. S far as hazardous places I really haven’t come across anything yet but I’ve got my eyes on a few places

Im pretty new to this but always looking at locations like damn this would be cool! Ive also been in relativley the same area my whole life so ive watched a lot of places change or decay. Basically though, anywhere that they obviously don’t want you in and anything near farms. The first place i went to, most of the doors had been bolted shut, and the windows boarded up. At some point I heard some bricks fall off the building, so maybe for the better. There were also a ton of bricks surrounding the buiilding, so yeah..

Too bad you weren't around for Li Tungsten or Bulova Watchcase.

Both of those were radioactive nightmares. Li Tungsten was BY FAR the worst of the two. They processed all manner of radioactive materials and it was a Superfund Site.

We stopped in a bar after an explore of Li Tungsten and a guy in the bar overheard us and asked if we had been in the plant. After a short description of the day's exploration, he looks me straight in the eye and says: "YOU ARE GOING TO DIE. You have no idea what a radioactive mess you were walking around in."

That was almost 20 years ago and so far, I'm still alive.

Bulova was mostly the remnants of radium paint used to make glowing watches. My old CD radiac meter was quite active at Bulova, but Li Tungsten was off the scale.

I've done an abandoned mineshaft before but smaller drains geek me. I do a lot of climbing but sketchy stairs and climbs without sturdy grips are a no. I don't do anything residential even if it is abandoned, no breaking and entering.

Definite no-go’s for me are drains; active rail tunnel/ bridge and mines are off limits too. UE has its inherent risk’s, some risks can be prepared for and some can’t. But the three no-go’s I mentioned can have serious things happen very fast with little to no warning. I’ll never criticize people if they die doing something that makes them feel alive but I’ll suggest not doing something that leaves a mystery and not a body. Which leads me to add that a no-go is everywhere if I’m alone. I have explored alone in the past when I was young and not fully aware of reality but it’s my commitment to not explore alone.

Currently I wont do active infiltrations. Id like to do active infiltrations in the future, however I dont believe I possess the knowledge to pull that off. I also wont do abandoned houses. Too much of a risk of running into sketchy people. Ive also stopped exploring any mine I come across because of a recent encounter with h2s. However if its a recently abandoned mine with lots of equipment and buildings id check it out with appropriate safety measures of course.

I work in the sewer and I'm proud of my job.

Not so much off limits but at school and during internships they drilled the dangers of confined spaces, such as passing out from insufficient oxygen, into my head. I always have this in the back of my mind when exploring certain spots.

I recently read Radium Girls by Kate Moore - a pop-sci book about the lives, gruesome deaths, and legal battles of the dial-painters for radium watch companies. (Apparently it's a movie now, too.) The stories were horrific in a 'oh-jesus-christ-that's-so-awful-I-can't-look-away' way. I don't know if I could go to a site like that. Don't really feel like I'd be down.

For me, anywhere underground (unless, it's like a basement of a fairly sturdy looking building), places that have been crime scenes to something tragic, places someone is living atm, and some graveyards.
