I think you're right, I too have seen photos where things are much more intact. It's to bad that the highway literally runs right by this place. Maybe someday they'll put up fences around the site and only the true explorers will have the guts to sneak in, then hopefully this would deter the vandals.

Made the trek up here with my mom while I was in town visiting her last month. I was surprised how easy it was to enter, it seems like the fences are there just to deter cars from entering. I didn't have time to explore the upper part but I do want to go back before winter. Here's some quick shots.
