Hey y'all I recently visited Riverview with a friend and captured these photos. It was pretty hard to get in as we had to climb over 1 and a half stories up to the window with the smallest and slanted footholds ever. I fell on my first attempt and hurt my hand pretty bad but managed to get inside alright. Riverview is truly a wonderful place to explore but was super creepy. We did not explore the ground floor and the basement much as it was dark and we were spooked. I printed out some evil spirit repelling prayer and read it as well as carried a small pouch of salt (I read online it helps repent the spirits) lol. I am not superstitious but I was definitely not taking any chances. We spent almost 2 hours there but didn't cover every inch of the place it was such a huge spot. This is my first post here so I hope you enjoy the photos! Take care :)

Good angles and lighting, looks like a great place. The sinks scattered around the room is my favorite of the bunch. And welcome to the site!

Congrats on the success. How badly did you hurt yourself?

Thanks. Nothing a little ice won't fix, it's just a huge bruise and hurts to move but it's definitely not broken or anything. I'm just glad I didn't land on one of the many nails down there.

Reminds me of a couple months ago when I was dropping through a broken window into an underground kitchen. I am not in shape and weigh more than is healthy to be dropping to the floor from ceiling height, but did so anyway and came down hard on both hands and feet. My friend who had dropped down before me asked with concern if I was okay and I replied "Yeah, why?". He pointed down at the layer of broken glass littering the floor that I'd landed palms-first into. I looked in surprise at my hands to find no cuts or scratches whatsoever. That was a good day.

I love your photos! What did you use to take them with? Your post makes me want to go back, I've been in there twice now and it still leaves me wanting to come back for more!

Fielding a guess before he has a chance to respond. Normal DSLR, fisheye lens. Somewhere in the 10-14mm range.

Thank you! I used a Fuji x-t20 with 7.5mm/2.8 Fisheye lens from 7Artisans. Some of the photos I used lens correction within Lightroom. I usually shoot with a Canon 80D with 10-18mm 4.5-5.6 but the new lens just arrived! Glad you enjoyed my photos.

Nice pics. Super jelly of you Vancouverites

Great photos! My wife and I were in Vancouver for the weekend, and we stopped by Riverview on Saturday afternoon. We noticed the access point to get inside this building, but neither of us felt up to climbing, so we just resigned ourselves to wandering the grounds and getting some exterior shots. Next time we head north, getting inside this place will be at the top of my list. Until then, looks like I'm living vicariously through photos like these.

Great explore, but small point of order. The grounds are "Riverview" you were in West Lawn.

Nice photos! That POE is tricky! I had to get a tetanus shot last time after exploring there. Back when the POE was on the ground floor, I cut my hand on a rusty nail while trying to get in. The West Lawn in not without it's challenges. lol
