It didn't occur to me to cross-post this at the time I made the post, but better late than never? A collection of work from the last year or so.

Part B: Mines (still) on the Mind For a couple of years now, I've been trying to focus on documenting abandoned mines in Northern Ontario. Compared to about 10 years ago, it's become harder and harder to find these places - a lot of mines have been reactivated, and many of the old headframes have fallen over or been demolished. Even once the mine itself has been capped and shut down, the tailings often remain, leaving behind land that is too toxic for anything to grow in, and contaminating the ground water and local lakes/rivers. 1.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in. |

Love #8.. that house looks really cold and cool. That shop in #15 is amazing too. Good choice on the straight-on centred composition.

Thanks! I'm also surprised that house survived last winter...I guess we will see if it's still standing in the spring!

These are all amazing shots! Also did anyone else think that the open door in the darkness (I think that is what it is) in photo number 7 of the first section look like a head, or is that just me?
