One of those locations I had meant to get around to doing for a long time but for one reason or another it never materialised. Recently however I finally got around to ticking it off the list, a bit of a flying visit but glad to get it done at last. This former general store + attached house is located in a rural village in the east of the UK. It was one of those places that would, at one point in time, have been the heart of the village and sold everything you could possibly need. Judging by some of the dates I could see stamped on boxes it closed at some point around 1985 and has been abandoned ever since with all of the contents left inside. It's been rummaged through a lot as you can imagine so is a fair mess inside but there is still so much to see and poke around in, it's one of those locations that shouldn't really exist any more. I could have spent ages in here shooting details etc but there was other stuff on the cards for the day - I actually ended up shooting this place on my phone as I felt it unsuitable for a wide angle lens, the Leica lens in my Huawei phone is fantastic in low light conditions so it coped remarkably well inside here. Perhaps one day I'll pop back in and spend a bit more time rummaging about. 1

Another great set Mook - love it!

Wow, amazing find and gorgeous pics! I especially like the old piano, the cash register, and the boxes of cards and Excedrin. Thank you for sharing!

Phenomenal set, especially for being shot primarily with your phone. It's amazing this place isn't a complete wreck after more than thirty years of abandonment.
