So I was just wondering how often everyone else gets kicked out of places or have to leave when either a security, police or nosy neighbor shows up? Like out of the last 30 places I've been, I've only had to leave for those reasons twice.
And when you do, do you think its because you weren't as stealthy as you thought you were? Or just hit some bad luck

So far it's been a rarity for me...at an abandoned Arkansas theme park years ago, my brothers and I were in the process of getting into the front gate when an SUV rolled up...the guys said they were there for a meeting with the owners, and it was unlikely that we'd get in (considering the owner had been awarded the park in a lawsuit after almost killing himself on the property while on an ATV). But as I took what pics I could from the road, my brother goes down in the middle of this meeting and asked permission, and they let us in. I also crawled thru a hole in a fence at an abandoned park in SC, and after about 15 mins of shooting pics, a car rolls up, security gets out and says I gotta go...I apologized and said I was just taking pics, but he says, "I get it, but if the owners saw this they'd want the law out here..." I asked if I needed to be escorted out, or if he wanted me to just go out the hole, and he said no escort was needed. I said "I was hoping I could turn that into a quick photo shoot as we moved to the park's front gate." This guy laughs, and says if it wouldn't get his ass fired, he'd probably do it...so I just left. I'm thinking on that one I hit a random patrol, but they were polite about it, and I was glad to get out without any drama. Seems like most of the time they start by asking you to go, as long as you're not obviously causing trouble or being a smartass...guess every situations different, but in my experience those confrontations don't happen much. Good luck to you!

I don't think I have ever been asked to leave until I was already leaving unless I am forgetting something.... although I did have a situation the other day where I had to dip out the back end of a building to evade security that I didn't expect to see. Do instances like that count? Lol

It has happened a number of times to me. Usually I make decisions about people around an area so that prevents a lot of trouble.

It depends were they there because of you? Or were they just there. Hard to tell when you have to high tail it out of there

Quite a few times, the best was when we thought there was a security guard standing watch so we flashed him with a light to spook him and it turned out to be a sheriff. Glad we got out before getting caught.

why on earth would you want to make your presence known to a security guard???

He was at the only entrance, so there was no getting in.

So then you didn't get kicked out because you were never actually in?

We got in a big parking structure and the front part of the place, but the cool part is in the back.

Sorry for the resurrection but I agree. In the ghetto nobody will care if you're going to an abandoned school. They probably see people go in there to get high all the time and don't bother messing with you
Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not, we never are. But that's not the right question. The question is, are we living a life that is worth the harm? |

I never go to places where there's lots of people, there could always be law enforcement there

Not very often. I've been chased out by dogs once though... Most of the times I've been caught by security guards have ended with me having a bit of a chat with them. Security guards are just blokes making a living doing a boring job. A bit of friendliness goes a long way.

Sadly I've been caught too many times, but I've never gotten in any real trouble. I just learned to okay with a long hike to my location, you can be parked nowhere near your location but if someone sees you you're screwed.
