Fall Cheesehead Groupex? Weekend of Cheese and Decay? Rotten Cheesefest? Moldy Cheese Meet-Up? I am not great at planning events. Someone want to run with this ball? Maybe we could start with who would be interested, followed by how far they are willing to travel? Centered on Madison, Milwaukee, LaCrosse, or elsewhere? Bueller? Bueller? I'll start with ~ I'm in! 1. Mr. Bitey 2. ???

I'd be interested. I know a couple decent places around Madison, though you could cover it all in half a day. If it were to be a multi-day thing, we might want to branch out to some of the surrounding areas, like Janesville, Milwaukee, and maybe even northern Chicago. I'd be willing to travel anywhere within a three hour radius of Madison that I can catch a Greyhound or Lamers to.

Chicago has way more action than here in Milwaukee. So I am thinking either central Wisconsin, or a border town with MN, IA, or IL. If there are enough location in central WI, I have access to hunting land in Iola we can camp on for free. There is electricity, but no facilities. Go in the woods, or to the gas station 5mi away. Bring your own food, water, drink. Endless firewood on the property. So, I am going to throw out there some options, and we will see if we get enough hits to put something together? Hudson, WI Dubuque, IA Madison, WI Iola, WI Beliot, WI Joliet, IL

I am thinking about doing another Clocktoberfest in late October. It's in Galena, Illinois, which is right across the river from my hometown of Dubuque, IA. It usually turns into more of a bonfire campout drunktacular than a lot of dedicated exploring, but it's a yearly tradition by and for urban explorers. And real exploration DOES happen during the event. Usually...

Same here. I do have some commitments on 10/6 and 10/20, but any other weekend that month would work for me. And hey, there's nothing wrong with sharing a twelve pack and some stories around the campfire. On a side note, we might get more responses if this thread were to be made public. Currently only full members can see it, which restricts access to well known explorers. There might be more basic members interested in joining us if they could see this thread, though that comes with the obvious possibilities of somebody untrustworthy finding information they shouldn't.

Committed Oct weekend of oct 13th and 20th. Clockwork - Sept 2 early arrivals, 3rd for the rest? Otherwise than mine and Aran's requests, I am flexible. I am not even opposed to winter camping - I can drag the trailer down. Coleman says 9, but realistically, 5 strange men comfortably. Camper has a furnace, but elec hookup would be ideal - I snore without my scuba gear CPAP machine! Agreed on public Aran, done. Hadn't even thought about it. Will reach out to non-FMer's that replied to original post. I'll eat my shorts if any local authority is willing to dish the over time req'd to infiltrate an overnighter..... AND... I'll bring my own 12er... No sharesies! Clockwork - If date works, can we count on you to coordinate? I suggest locations be kept private or a surprise.... If you wanna share, cool.... But it should be private IM with FM's. Any non FM'ers will just plain be surprised.... Agreed?

I'm in. Anytime in late October is good for me!

I apologize, but after a coordinated discussion with many long time attendees, October 20th has been selected as the weekend for Clocktoberfest 2018. I'm sorry if that isn't going to work for folks here.

I'll see what I can do, but it doesn't look good. I'll let you know if I work something else out around the beginning of October. On that note, anyone interested in doing a dofferent meetup? Nobody ever said there has to be just one.

I am currently just south of the WI-IL border, 30 minute drive and I can be in WI just to give a geographical idea of where I'm at. I'm willing to travel reasonable distances as well

When this turns into an actual event, you should make the event on here. The event system on UER messages everyone who lives within a certain radius. And then post in here for others that live outside that radius, in case they are willing to travel. I'd be interested in meeting explorers of this area. Keep us all updated on plans, please!

If you have have a location or two in Madison & Beloit, WI, I am really close to that area in Rockford, IL. Since I've moved here I already have a decent list of places that I want to explore, including: a hospital, a factory and an old toy factory. This town is heavy with abandonments. We obviously don't have to do all of them, but here are a few that I wouldn't mind a partner or small group with. Otherwise, I used to live near Iola, WI in Stevens Point, WI. Taking a few days off to go camping and exploring sounds like a lot of fun to me! Let me know your thoughts.
