For those of us that can't explore do to our jobs.

I would first like to thank all of the members that share their amazing sets of such beautiful places... THANK YOU. I am in a kinda weird position in regards to exploring. If I were to get a trespassing ticket, it would put my job in jeopardy, as I am the network administrator of a sheriff's office. There are several places that I would love to take pics of, and I may be about to from a public road, but it is not worth my job to explore inside. I can only hope that my outside pics will be enough. Again, thank you all for the pics and please know, I that I visit the site daily to enjoy your amazing visits thru your camera's eye

Cheers. While you may not be out on the street shooting bad guys, you are still a vital cog in the machine that keeps us all safe. I appreciate your service. Exploring is great, but a good job is a necessity.

I have been in this house and these pics are not correct. This is wooden house and the insides are NOT cement blocks.

This on a trip with friends showing me around some places in GA.

P.S. this was before I worked at the SO.

I can't speak for all areas in the DB, but I know my area is a mess. I have been trying to clean it up. dammband, the guy who posted the pics, is still an active member. I sent him a note with your observational comment, and a link to this thread. If it is wrong, I am sure he will correct. If not, I asked him to comment in this thread.

Yikes. That's an old add to the db. 2011. Those pics were from a school not to far away. Miss see what I can do today about fixing it. That house was so full of just shit. Not worth it ever.

Good catch.

This region is well known for putting up bogus locations in the DB. I removed quite a few of them myself when I was a moderator.

Use the Contact A Moderator message/sub-board to alert them to this entry or any other fake locations you find.

Posting fake locations takes away from whatever credibility the DB had.

WI shows locations literally out in Lake Michigan. I have corrected/changed status of several in my area so far. The ones in the lake are on my list to confirm/deny a real location that is just placed wrong. Unfortunately, almost all of them in the Milwaukee area need to at least have the status changed. Space is always a premium here. Hipsters need a converted brewery/tannery/slaughterhouse/warehouse/factory condo to store their mustache wax and Pabst....

I fixed the photos and posted some from the actual location. That's my 7 year old fuck up.

Thanks, but its like shoveling sand against the tide.

I have been contacted before by members finding major errors and all manner and sorts of b.s. information. One member in Florida cleaned up a couple dozen by herself or brought them to my attention.

Gotta tell ya the ones with no pics of the exterior, no address, or building /company name out in the middle of a lake a hundred miles away from where theyre supposed to be, those are tough to correct. I consider my self above average using satellite images but some of these places defy pin pointing! I que'd some up for delete but I also saved just as many more by correcting missing information with a 5min Guugle search. The pay was great by the way. And zero members thanked me. It was a win / win.

DB rule of thumb; if you see something wrong fix it, if you can, if you cannot just Contact A Moderator with the location ID and ask them to fix it.

p.s. for those location creators that try to be clever and deceive others by listing bogus info under the guise of "protecting" the location, just don't put it on the Internet if youre really concerned about it.

p.s. 2 its probably on instagram or imgur or flickr somewhere anyway with the real name and address...
