Right about now, I'd say.

"Sorry, I didn't know I'm not supposed to be here," he said, knowing full well he wasn't supposed to be there.

Perhaps, but the only way to see any of your photos is to join your Facebook group. Combined with the fact that all of your posts just tell people to join your group (as opposed to posting exploration photos here, or posting any kind of actual content at all), your posts come across less as an attempt to meet more explores on this site and more as a recruitment attempt for yours.

Hmmmm.... Thousands, you say? I've only been here a few months, so I am game to jump ship.

Actually, in those few months I haven't even come close to looking at the hundreds of thousands of pics here. Oh.... And I forgot I've only shared a couple hundred of the thousands of my own pics so far. Probably because I get distracted by all the new locations I've found since joining.

So yeah.... On second thought.... Yeah.... I think I'll stay. But I appreciate you spamming, I mean sharing your little club with everyone.

See you here real soon: http://www.uer.ca/forum_banlist.asp

I don't consider promoting yourself or your social media crap the way this guy has as bannable. Poor form, sure, especially how he gives such a generic name and expects us to track it down, without even hinting it's worth our time.

We can all see what he's doing, and it is annoying as hell. This kid is free to figure out how message boards work and find a better way to be active on here, preferably very soon.

Hey silatobl,

So I checked out the facebook page, and I have a number of comments on it, and on how you may better accomplish what you're trying to do -

  • Every single photo on there is posted by the same person (the group admin), whom I presume is you... occasionally a handful of others comment, but almost all activity on the group is from one person.
  • As it stands, that group is acting as a personal photo album rather than a community
  • I understand your desire to get people more active on there and turn it into a community, but...
  • Given all your posts on UER about this and the still-low engagement level, I don't think that's going to happen. At least, not from UER people, and not the way you're going about it.
  • On a brighter note, I will say that your photos are pretty damn good, and you have some awesome locations! You seem like a very prolific explorer and experienced photographer.

All that said, I think you will have much better luck posting these photos directly here, and engaging with this already-built community rather than trying to force-feed your own. So I strongly encourage you to post some of your material here!

If, for some reason, that is not agreeable to you, then for the love of God, take the hint (which is being expressed increasingly less subtly) - members of UER are happy where they are (that, and don't want to get Zuck'd), and are not particularly interested in your facebook group.

Please don't make another post about this group - we'd love to see you making some posts about your exploring though!

Well said, and I would be shocked if anyone did not agree with this. I should probably spend more time crafting a post like that, instead of amusing myself with my giant, smart, ass. It is hard to lead with my brain with gravity and momentum constantly pulling said giant smart ass to the front. Bad genes.

If you plan to stick around and follow The Viscount Andrew Dalton's advice, I would suggest first reading the forum rules: http://www.uer.ca/...1&fid=1&currpage=1
