This locale was one I blew through quickly. I had 30 mansions scheduled to visit and I was on a second string of good luck, so I thought I'd not spend long. It was threatening to rain and very overcast on the approach. Past a working farm nearby the house loomed over the surrounding fields in isolation.
When we entered I could not find a way down to the basements, and the floors were either gone, or just rotting beams with some ceilings that were just outlines of structure. I later learned from the local explorer below that there were some stone stairs I clearly missed that reach the bottom cellars, which are quite pretty with carved columns. I did not stay long as it started to rain and I found the place rather uninviting.
I spoke later to Derelict Ireland upon seeing a video of the place they posted. This person deserves LOTS of attention for their amazing digital reconstructions and comparative techniques. They are very passionate about preservation and the history of these lost Great Houses. The video link here gives away the location name sadly, but I think it's very much worth watching their video if you want to know more about this place. They have a very unique approach that has really impressed me.

Upon speaking to them briefly and from the video I learned that the house was actually well known as the site of a famous murder-suicide that shocked the country. It was probably the weather, the hurry or the spent shotgun shells I found outside the entrance that kept me from staying long, but it was an interesting last note to this gloomy lost house.

Thank you. I captured one or two, but those floors kept me out of a lot of it. They do really add to the feel as you look across that field.
