Question for Boston People

In NYC, we have these anaerobic sewage sludge digesters. The city officially calls them the "Egg Digesters". Unofficially, they are almost universally called the "Shit Tits".

On a trip to Boston, I noticed similar structures in the outer limits of Boston Harbour and was curious if the Boston folks have a colourful nickname for them as well.

We have them in Baltimore too, most people just call them the "golden eggs".

Nope. In fact I'm pretty sure 99% of Bostonians have no idea what those are.

I think most of us would. Its Deer Island, where they found the body of Baby Bella. It was a huge story. I dont think we have a nick name for them tho. I know its for the waste treatment plant. You can drive out there and walk the whole island and get some nice views of the harbor, Boston light and the city in the distance.

Took this shot years back.

And some of the 1% that do, wish they didn't know...

Milwaukee doesn't have shit tits. We don't ferments the solids, we dehydrate them, and sell it as Milorganite - a white pelletized fertilizer. The name comes from MILwaukee ORGAnic NITrogEn. The Jone's Island Wastewater Treatment Plant is the only treatment plant that manufactures, markets, distributes, and sells Miloragnite. Because of the lack of shit tits fermentation silos, If you drive over the plant on the Hoan bridge, it reeks of poo. If the wind is coming off of Lake Michigan, the entire Menomonee River Valley will reek of poo, all the way up to Miller Park where the Brewers play, about 6mi inland.

We do, however have the Mitchell Park Domes. Each dome has a different environment: Desert, Rain Forest, and Floral Domes. The floral is similar to a Wisconsin spring year round.

So, no shit tits, but the domes make for the 3 titted alien....

There is no nickname that I know of but here are some interesting facts about the Deer Island Waste Water Treatment Plant:

"Deer Island is the second largest sewage treatment plant in the United States. The plant has a peak capacity of processing 1.2 billion gal/day of raw sewage"

"The plant uses a 10-mile long gravity-powered outfall tunnel that bores underneath the bay towards the ocean. It is one of the longest underwater tunnels in the world. In the last mile of the tunnel are 52 mushroom-shaped riser pipes that carry treated effluent up from the tunnel to the ocean floor, where it is dispersed. Two divers died in the final phase of construction in 1999."
