Probably the most well known of abandoned powerplants in Illinois, this was built to provide power for a larger factory and was left abandoned upon the factories closure. There used to be other buildings on the property which were demolished, leaving mainly the powerplant. Its closure hurt an already injured suburb, forcing many out of jobs. On the way to the plant, other abandonments litter the town, from apartments and houses to stores and factories. Regardless of the vandalism, and obvious fires in some areas, the site was still amazing. These conveyor belts went into a flooded lower level.
There was actually some nice graffiti.
The actual building now
The control panel was decimated.
Out on the roof.
This place was sketchtastic
I'll end with the smokestack.

Thanks! It certainly does. I got all the way to the smokestack but decided not to climb it, maybe I'll return one day.
