We have all found abandonments where it looks like the people just walked out one day and didn't come back, but this one takes it to an almost eerie extreme. If the cardboard note left beside the kitchen door is to be believed, the person staying here went into town for some quick Internet access and did not come back. What peculiar events befell them on that short trip? Were they killed in an accident? Arrested? I tried something different with this gallery and re-ordered my shots to follow what might have been the person's final morning routine in the house, from the time they woke up to the time they stepped out the door, never to return again. The bed-sheets looked so fresh that I was half convinced someone was still in the house with me, and started calling out loud with an explanation that I meant no harm and would leave immediately. I'm not sure what was in the pan in the bedroom, but it might have been followed up by a nice bath to freshen up, and then down for some pupated maggot Food Basic chicken leftovers and maybe a fluffy white mold croissant breakfast. And then they were off!

DUUUUUUUDE, Have you not yet learned to NOT ever open the fridge?? LOL Great set and unique location, great presentation. The note you found reminds me of one I found in an abandoned house I found last year on Cedar Springs, this was sitting on the kitchen table as I first walked in....

I love it how we in this hobby are the only ones who get what that means. And reciprocate the very same feeling all the time!

I always open the fridge. It's the best way to gauge whether a location is still active or not. And the generation before us often didn't buy fireproof safes and instead thought that the fridge/freezer was the next best place. This old classic spot was where things really changed for me.... those coffee cans did not have coffee in them!

I don't know how the heck you notice these things, but I'm sure glad you do! You bring me a whole new re-examination and appreciation of half my own photos.

Getting Stranger by the minute. Actually 15 minutes. What happened in those 15 min. Check the labels... if you dare, on that chicken or bakery goods container. Those would give you a close time frame to when this person went missing. Those items are usually bought fresh with a label that tells you when it was cooked in-store. Cool Set! Cant wait for more.

#13 is my favourite! The red and black really do catch the eye for me. But seriously, the collect of tools and drawers!

I also wondered about a date via the chicken or croissant containers! You'd have to be pretty brave to venture near that chicken though! Yikes
