My 1st Urban Exploration Experience

I found a location with an open door and under construction, and couldn't bring myself to go there. Well, until today that is. The doors were closed, but the construction workers left it unlocked. I looked up heard some workers in the distance so I stayed as quiet as possible. Going up was a bit too dangerous, but I found a ladder and went down,
Image 1:

I found some unfinished Metal stairs, but they were way too incomplete to explore further.
Image 2:

Going up the ladder I found a door that read: "KEEP CLOSED", and peered through to find some people having a meeting and quickly jerked back. I figured they were going to be too distracted having the meeting, and sneaked past them going down a hall way unseen. I then found myself outside and saw some stairs going up in the distance.
Image 3:

I then went up the stair slowly trying not be be spotted distant construction workers. Then walking through the door I found a warehouse filled construction stuff and an incomplete project which I couldn't find identify! I couldn't stay there long since I heard some workers who were pretty close.
Image 4:

I walked down and saw a black building and was curious what was in it.
Image 3:

I walked in opening the door and I saw some six workers at their desks. I backed away quickly accidentally leaving the door still open. A worker took notice to the open door, and spotted me. Taking advice from a member on these forums I said, "Oh the door was open and I was just curious." He asked if I was lost and I awkwardly said "No I'm fine. Yeah... I'll just go... I know where I'm going now..." Feeling awkward and without words I walked away from him past the building and dashed down the streets as fast as I could! After running a block or two a slowed down and thinking "What the f**k did I just do!" Walking to my local library and waiting for the bus stop; That thought just reoccurred over and over in my head.
I would like to thank the people in the following thread who gave me the confidence and reassurance to explore this construction area: http://www.uer.ca/...urrpage=1&pp#post0
Please reply with your thoughts and suggestions on my first experience!

lol that awkward conversation probably left him a bit confused. It sounds like a pretty fun experience and I bet that was much more of a confidence builder than most people had with their first explore.

Personally I never intentionally set out to explore a construction site while the workers are still there, but there have been a few occasions where it's happened unexpectedly. Sounds like you had a good first experience. I'm sure you'll have many more to come.

Good on ya! Myself, I prefer deconstruction sites to construction. But, again, that's just me. Hope you had fun!

Hmmm...to me it seems like the risk to reward ratio is really high on this one. Lot's of unnecessary risk. You're much better off picking a sunday or holiday when they are much less likely to be working. I wouldn't give a shit, but when you get caught, it makes it that much harder for the next explorer.

I gotta agree with 2X. Stay with me here.... I don't want to be caught. As a 45yr old, with nothing in hand but my cell phone, it would probably be no big deal. I would likely walk with a "don't let me ever see you here again". But there are the power drunk rent-a-cops, cops, and salty property owners that would make it miserable, possibly hauling me in for no good reason when they could have just written a ticket. Forced to sit in cell for 3hrs with Rapey the creeper and Stabby the clown, while he eats doughnuts and takes his sweet ass time writing a report and tickets. Put several charges on me that wouldn't stick in court and just waste everyone's time. BUT.... The fact that that is a real possibility on any and all explorations, does for me anyway, account for more than half of the rush of exploring. And how about having to evade, distract, or hide to avoid being caught. Talk about a SERIOUS rush, especially that instant you know you are in the clear. If they could package that shit up, I would be a hopeless addict who never leaves the house..... The fact that tonight is the night I may have to share close quarters with Rapey and Stabby gets me off. Adrenaline is awesome!
