Only photo I have of this place. History says Alma College was purchased by the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District as part of the Bear Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve. Made a wrong turn and discovered this hillside abandoned campus. Parked down a ways and walked up through and passed the gate with my dog. I took one photo from the hillside as I was to stay out of sight from a Los Gatos Sheriff cruising the grounds. The only photo I took was this one. 1.

Very active site now as they begin construction on the new Open Space. The remaining buildings are surrounded by a fence with barbed wire. The front of the property near the road is now an active construction site for the new parking lot and bathrooms. The place is pretty torn up but it will only get worse when the surrounding property gets opened up to the public. 10 11 12 9 8 6 5 4 1 14 13 15 3 2

Is access still possible with the construction and increased security?

Nice photos. I never noticed before that the ceiling of the library had a leaf design on it. Probably one of my favorite abandoned places ever. It will be interesting to see what they do with it - according to the info posted, they're supposed to open up some of the buildings.

Access is still very possible. Try a quiet weekend morning.

It's still very accessible and your able to get a permit to be on the property very easily and for free. Website says it's closed until 2019 and they aren't issuing permits, however I was able to get a permit online a few days ago with no problem, so I'm not sure if it was an error, but it meant a worry free visit. Interesting that you can get a permit because... I used the same link and I don't see the preserve the college is located on listed in locations.

I think it might go without saying, but you still have to be cautious. The permits are for the trail itself, not the buildings. Correct me if I’m wrong?

Yes, the buildings are still off limit. But from what I see you can't even obtain a permit anymore. I checked the link.
