Anyone been around or have any stories to tell? http://abandonedpl...conia_State_School As I was in town the other day I heard on the local radio station they're discussing what to do with the joint. They were having a town meeting that night.

Unfortunately it looks like that might be a full members only post? Sorry, but you don't have enough access rights to see this thread.

I was there a couple weeks ago, could upload some shots if need be. It's still about status-quo at the moment, vacant but locked up tight. There is talk of repurposing it for residential/retail development, so it all may get torn down at some point. A section of the NH State Hospital in concord is being torn down right now. The outdoor walled basketball court that was for criminal inmates is basically being torn out, and maybe parts of the rest of the building with it. This was the basketball court that was in the Christopher Payne book Asylum.

It seems like a large place empty or not. Did you feel the risk was worth it?
|
|
risk? at Laconia? There's no real risk, people can wander the campus, generally, just don't try to enter any of the buildings or they will be on top of you for that. There is an active facility there, using some buildings, it's a regional dispatch center.

Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time. Z.B.S. Halevi -- Kabbalah |
