Am I the only one using drones for scouting missions ? They are a great way to do aerial surveillance in real time ..... Just wondering if anyone else is using them for exploring purposes ???

I actually used one to plot out an entry route on my last explore, super handy to have.

I haven't used mine yet scouting; only photos and videos.

I've recently picked up a DJI Mavic. I've not had time to really learn to fly and shoot video. It should be perfect for scanning the area around a mine to see if there are any other adits for us to explore. I would like to start shooting some videos of mine exploring and motorcycle rides that I do. A drone would be perfect to augment ground level shots. Really like the shot of the "castle"! I just got home from three weeks in England. It was a really great trip. One week around London and two weeks up north doing some mine exploring. Abby

This might be slightly off topic but does anyone know if you can get night vision drones? I have been thinking about getting a drone for a long time but I do 90% of my exploring at night or early morning when it is dark out due to my work schedule and thought purchasing one would just be a waste. Thoughts on this?

I don't know of any consumer drones that have that feature.

I used to use a drone to scout and get some cool ariel shots, that was until I crashed it into a tree. It plummeted to the ground and was rendered completely useless.
I'm here for a good time not a long time. |

I don't have one but figure it would be a nice addition. My camera bag is already heavy enough as it is though so I'm not super excited about adding more weight.
