Alarms and running, away or towards?

Recently a friend and I were checking out an old newspaper printing warehouse that hasn't been in operation for about the last 10 years and its starting to get decrepit. We we scouting the perimeter to see if there were any holes or unlocked doors we could access and for cameras and other security measures. All the doors were locked except for the last one, the handle turns, I open the door. BWEEP-BWEEEP-BWEEP-BWEEP. So naturally we bolted out of there.

We scouted from a hill nearby to where we ran too and observed a security car pull up 10 mins later then the alarm stopped.

Anyways, that sparked the question in my mind. I could of hid within side the building (assuming I could find a spot to hide) and have the security reset the alarm while I'm already inside. I cant imagine they'd patrol the whole building, I bet they would asumme the alarm would scare intruders away. Now obviously that's not the smartest idea in the world and many variables would need to be in my in my favor.

I was just wondering if anyone here has ever done something so daring like that, or anything along the lines of that

(Also I'm not about to do something that risky anytime soon

Well sometimes hiding is better than running but I wouldn't prefer it unless I had a rock solid place to hide. But yeah for the most part they wouldn't find you if you put much effort into hiding.

Are we living a life that is safe from harm? Of course not, we never are. But that's not the right question. The question is, are we living a life that is worth the harm?

If you're planning on hiding, just be prepared for the fact that the security guard most likely knows the location way better than you do. You can bank on the guy not checking around, and often they will not do a full sweep, but for my money I'd make sure I was outside the doors before anyone rolled up.

Justice works on the principle of equal torment for all. Under no circumstances may justice find a mistake excuseable.
