I couldn't find any recent threads on this location, which makes sense as the place has been on lockdown since 2015. Built in the 1930s, this Art Deco-designed jail housed prisoners for 30-odd years before shutting down in 1965. It went on to be used as a set for several horror films and music videos. And as of last November, it's been slated for development. Apologies for the darkness of all these photos, btw... we were only able to explore the first floor, and we had gotten in right before dawn. Didn't want to overstay our welcome.
I hope I can manage one more explore inside this place. It's a helluva location, and it won't be in this state of decay for much longer.

If this is the one I think it is - it is indeed art deco. But yes! Exteriors!

Is this the jail that once was part of a uer Meetup that grouped up at Philippe the original french dip? If so, I'm a fan of Philippe's. If not, I'm still a fan. Nice photos! I'm studying this to see what I may have missed? You see, the meetup left to go on some jail tour in LA while I was stuck in the line, lol. So I had some lemonade and hung out on skid row, which was pretty damn exciting. Then pretended to be paparazzi in hollywood and found the streetraces instead. LA rules.
