Heading to England for some exploration!

I'm so excited that I'm in the planning stages of a three week trip to England in May. The trip is split into two parts. One week of doing the tourist thing in and around London with my best friend Kelly. Then two weeks of caving and mine exploring with my dear friend Speedy Caver. We are going to meet up with folks that I've known online for a number of years as well as a few that I met on my last trip.

The high point of my previous trip there was the Croesor Rhosydd thru trip. It was absolutely amazing! Some AMAZING CRTT photos Along with the Maenofferen and Cwmorthin slate mines. Lastly we explored the Coniston copper mine up in the Lakes district. It's so very different from the dry mines of the desert southwest. By the time my trip was over we had walked miles in cold knee deep water.

The plans are still in progress but we may make a return run through the CRTT since it's such an amazing adventure. I'll also get my first shot at caving since I was in my teens. It's going to be great. I'm thinking of adding an international page to my www.mine-explorer.com website to show photos of those mines as well.

Looks like a lovely and adventurous few weeks! Photos to come.

I'm pretty close to London so if you're about give me a shout. Oxford where I live is a must-visit if you're a tourist anyway, less than an hour from London if you have any free time.

Maenofferen is a fantastic place as are Dinorwic and Ratgoed, both worth looking into.

Not gonna lie...High Gate Cemetery has always intrigued me with the dark tales surrounding the vampire that was believed to be roaming the grounds of such a beautiful place.

Highgate is nice, it's the most well known of the Magnificent Seven cemeteries though. Out of all of them I much prefer Abney Park as most of it has been left to run totally derelict and 'back to nature'.

Thanks for the offer! I'm still not sure of the schedule, but it would be fun.
