I carry a knife when in the rough parts of town or when urbexing cause even if it stays in my pocket, it's nice to be able to have something that can intimidate a crackhead or schizo homeless person. If it's light, and you can prove to cops you only use it as a weapon, bring it. Better prepared than hurt/dead. But most of all, for all of these human interactions, the most dangerous interactions you'll have other than asbestos and falls, all you really need is to be able to put a person at ease and to be friendly. Nobody wants to hurt someone that humanizes themself, and doubly so if there's a risk of retaliation with a knife.
I subsist off of vitamins and Toblerone.
Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

I've had a knife pulled on me by sickos trying to size me up. Having a knife has saved my skin numerous times. Feel free to get stabbed bub, I'm gonna play it safe. Just cause you've been on a forum for a longer time doesn't mean you are somehow wiser irl.

That's funny, I'm almost 61 and my knife has never saved me from a human yet. I take my walking stick over a knife any day...

ha, true enough half these little keyboard Rambos have never even been to a "rough" part of town except in their wet dreams, let alone encountered a real "crackhead" or hobo, or whatever boogie man scares them.. (the next mention of stabbing homeless people gets this thread locked, that's not what this site is about but hey, they can always start their own Hobo Stabbing private board if they like for FMs only please)

Hi I’m new to exploring and I need some advice. I have an Instagram account that I use to share my photography and I’m 16 years old. I’ve had a lot of people ask me if they can meet up with me where I live. And that’s all fine and stuff it’s just that I’m 16 years old and my parents wouldn’t necessarily be ok with that. Now I don’t want to hear I’m too young to be urbexing because I know I have to start somewhere. Does anyone have any advice for me?

if you really want to meet up with strangers from the Internet at least meet them in broad daylight in a very public location
