shivering state hospitals

This past weekend, I was in Massachusetts visiting some family. I thought it would be silly if I didn't do some exploring. I went to an extremely popular location that almost seemed touristy. The security here was a joke, they drive around in their van and don't bat an eye at a dude with a big ass backpack looking at an open hole in the fence. Despite the vandalism, this is by far the most incredible location I've ever visited. Thanks for viewing!

Great shots! I especially like the one with the peeling paint, those are always fun to shoot.

Thanks!

Curious what blackhawk thinks about me walking on the side of a collapsed floor to get to that wheelchair, my buddies that I explored with were too sketched out to.

Curious haha is the inspiration of this title because it's so damn cold here in MA or is there some history in reference to the location?

Looks like great fun
You captured some beautiful images.
However...
Now you know the sad truth too;
that not everything is bigger in Texas.
Especially the mental hospitals.
You're lucky you to got to see this as their days are numbered.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.

Speaking of days being numbered, you visited this beauty just in time. Demolition may start during 2018 ); great shots though. Even though I've been there a bunch and seen many pics, I love seeing new accounts of people going there because there is just always new stuff to see, new angles, new areas.

Oh and about the security, they're notorious for being lazy as hell lol. Some of us are convinced they nap in their patrol cars more than they actually patrol the place. They're lenient as hell, the only problem is the Sheriff's Department, which has recently gotten involved my only guesses are that 1. someone got hurt or 2. the new owners of the land requested extra surveillance of the place.

It made me chuckle a little bit, another tuberculosis hospital I went to in Mass had some decent security. I'm not saying it was incredible though 😛

Is this the place that is on the main road set back a bit with the lawn? You could say it's got a Lakeview... I know that property just changed hands.

It did just change owners, all the photos are in different buildings. Not sure which one you are talking about.
