The church is about 92 years old and was built by Ukrainian settlers who came to this area way back when. There are still a lot of smaller towns out there but it seems like it's now just the older generation left and all the younger folks are moving in closer to the cities.
I've been quite amazed at how many of these types of churches are actually out there within 60-90 mins of the major centre here. The communities, at one day, must have been thriving.
Apparently they moved this Church onto a new foundation last December and were working towards restoring it but windows are still boards and it didn't look like there was much going on for restoration when I was there.

I'm going to take a drive out tomorrow again and map out a bit of a route to send to you guys and then you can decide how far out you want to go and what you want to hit. I'm still trying to find this abandoned monastery but haven't had success yet. It's apparently hidden in the tress too so google isn't helping me much. It's out in that area though so driving me insane that I can't find it!! lol

Have you guys made another trip out there? And roughly where is it, or where do you all live? I moved to Edmonton just a few months ago and would be stoked to explore with more people

I've gone out one other time solo but we haven't gone as a group yet. I'm still fairly new to the UER website but it seems most of us are in Edmonton. This place is about an hour out of the city, give or take. We're talking about making a trip soon! I'm always up for an explore

So this group of you that's making a trip soon, is there any way I could get in on it?
I'm not exactly new to the site, I just had large gaps in my activity on it because I lived in a small town and there was no one on here who lived in my area
