I explored this abandoned Boys and Girls gym last summer, and it has since been demolished. (pics aren't the best, but the building was known to be checked by law enforcement every 2 hours, so we had to be fast).
Here's the outside. There wasn't much cover around it and the main road, so we had to be super careful.
Interior of the gym:
Notice the little piano standing in the middle of the gym floor.
Old coke machine in one of the basement rooms:
Super sweet arcade game just left behind.
Creepy. . .
Wish I could've gone through this building a few more times, but it was demolished the week after I visited

Wow! There is a LOT of vandalism in that gym. I'm glad to see there are so many new members in the middle tn area, you've got a lot to explore. I'm originally from Nashville and I'll try to remember to PM you next time I'm in the area. Good luck!

Neat. I hope demolition company saved the pinball & coke machine.

So do I! There were lots of interesting pieces in there worth saving - vintage ellipticals, old school chairs and desks, etc

I don't understand how and what gets left behind sometimes. I've been tempted more than once to track down the owners for salvage rights or at least to let them know they have some great antiques.

That design of that pinball machine's playfield looks almost identical to my Bally Supersonic machine's field.

That's cool, I've never played Supersonic. Until he moved up North, I had a friend that collected, built, and resold pinball machines.

That's sick! A battery rupture destroyed my machine's mainboard so it doesn't work right now, but being an older game it was pretty simple. No rails or animated displays or fancy effects, just blinking lights. There's a pit that launches the ball back out at a specific angle to one of the flippers that lets the player score in the pit repeatedly forever. I've been meaning to repair it for years....
