Well guys....I finally did my first legit larger scale exploration. I've had this weird thing going on where it's been almost a week but I haven't shared it with anyone because I just wanted to savour the moment and ride the incredible adrenaline rush I got doing it. I think I stayed "high" for 2 days and I've been re-living it looking at the pictures. Sounds weird, I know, but if anyone will understand it, you guys will. I'd love to share it with you because you are the local group and the threads I read the most but the exploration actually happened over in Germany. Can I still post it up here or should I post it somewhere else??

That's really dope, I can really relate to that "high" you're talking about. Going into a giant unknown place, exploring it thoroughly, and getting out without getting caught or hurt is always such a satisfying feeling.

I was in Berlin for a couple of weeks. I got my start in exploring because of my love of street art...and I have evolved from there. It was my second time to Germany too. Sooo many places! Which part were you in?

Sounds like a plan! I will do that a bit later today and do a bit of a write up and throw up some pics. I'm not a photographer but they turned out not too bad for the most part. Stay tuned!!

It was amazing. I haven't felt that high since I was ice climbing in the Rockies for the first time a couple of years ago. I wanted to do a conga line all the way out. lol

Congratulations Lola! I think we've all had that similar experience of exhilaration and catharsis after a major explore. Keep up the good work and let's see those photos posted here! I look forward as well to seeing your future photos from explores in the BC/AB area.

My first trip, I spent about a week in Berlin, lots of time in Leipzig, went to Cotbus, Erfurt, Cochem, Frankfurt, Potsdam, Stuttgart, Nuremberg. Second trip... I did a bit of a Europe tour. pulled in Berlin by train, spent a whole 2 hours waiting for a connecting train, then went to Leipzig (I have a good friend who lives there) then we did a week of Verboten activities. went to Kassel, Bad Wildungen, along with a bunch of town in between. In Germany alone, Ive been to an abandoned amusement park, military spy station, ice factory, Nazi military base that was taken over by the communist during the cold war, random house / apartments, churches, aquatic center, several factories, mansions, medical clinics, train station, train yards, underground bunkers, very large hospital, medieval tunnels under a citadel.... I'm provably forgetting some. many of these place I just found my chance, either walked by, or the train would go past it. a few other my friend knew of them. as for the bunkers in Erfurt... you pretty much need gps coordinates to find them.

^^^that is SO AMAZING!! Wow!! You could literally spend a few months there just exploring. I went up to the spy station in the Berlin area. Got some cool pics up there but there were a lot of people and it didn't feel quite the same as the other place. I think we need a group trip to Germany. lol

Thanks! It was definitely creepy but so worth it! I've done a fair bit of solo exploring and your senses are so much more heightened when it's just you. It make the rush that much stronger...lol Plus, I was in Germany and really wanted to do something like that before I came home. Welcome aboard too!
