Sometimes, but the goal isn't so much that they'll stab themselves in the foot but rather slip and bust their ass on a hundred tiny fulcrums. I would use marbles but those are much more costly.

This is some redneck Batman shit right here.

More like redneck Kevin from Home Alone.

What I prefer is to have a kit that's a pound lighter, so I have greater mobility and will never have to explain why I have a pound of roofing nails in my bag.

One would imagine that it would be easier to outrun a pursuer and/or explain yourself to the cops when you aren't carrying a knife, smokebombs, and lots of nails.

One would imagine I don't have much of a problem ditching these materials if I really needed to. That's why they border on the "cheap and easy to find" side.

LATER ADDED
But that's just my opinion, that's all I mean.

But like what kind of locations do you go to that you need a literal bag of nails and smokebombs in the first place?? If you somehow get caught with that stuff, you would be completely and utterly screwed. I find it better to be mobile and not have to worry at all about cops finding weapons hidden in my stuff.

Off-topic and feeding a potential troll, but I have to ask...

I've wondered since I first did research on locations in New Orleans, now I'm really curious:

You said LEOs in NOLA are a "different breed" in addition to feeling the need to carry more than a knife as self defence. I would greatly appreciate if you could give me some insight into:

What makes law enforcement in New Orleans particularly different to the rest of Louisiana and the US?

Do you frequently find squatters or no-goods in places you explore? If so, what is the nature of the place? Expropriated property, abandonment, house, industrial?

Are the people you encounter or fear you could encounter, be it police or people, the reason you feel compelled to carry weapons?

One day I got a good camera.

Of course, I'll tell you as much I can. I'll start it in a new thread so this one can go back to sleep.

I tend to see it the same as our national parks rules: "It may just be one rock or one stick to you... But if everyone who visited saw it as 'just one' soon there would be none left."

At the end of the day it all works out. So, Joker Spector's crack team of operators may take a few unique items from their missions but they leave roofing nails behind, so its a kind of a trade really, not a theft.

The bad guys then take said roofing nails and find a piece of tar paper and make their own improvised and improved booby traps. Full circle.

Just when I thought I was out... they pulled me back in.
