So I started on June 30th a new job.

I'm a flatbed tow driver for AAA Oregon/Idaho for the In-House Fleet. I get paid by the hour to tow, not by the call. It's awesome! I was trained by the greatest old timers! I flip between driving a Frieghtliner M2-106 and a Hino 258 with Jerr-Dan decks!

I worked part-time for a tow company back in 2000... the worst part was repo calls. that sucked.

one of my first jobs was pumping gas at the local sunoco... they would sometimes send me out to tow a customer. Our tow truck was a 1975 gmc sierra 4x4 it had a np203 transfer case, so full time 4 wheel drive, 3 speed manual with a granny, and a holmes 440 strap towing in the back. It was a PTO, so you had to set your throttle lock just right, and rigging that truck if you didnt do it right you could easily yank the plastic bumper cover off the car... in fact i did it to an old sunbird once.

So in the almost 2 years I have been working for AAA Oregon, I've have advanced my way to being the single operator of this wonderful truck last year.

Its a 2018 Hino 258 Cabover with a Century 712 deck. It has a tunnel box, which is awesome. It can tow 1 ton trucks and vans no problem.
