Hey y'all,
Looking at going to Forest Haven at some point relatively soon, anyone have any advice or stuff I should know other than the basic urbex knowledge?
Also, any info on security and whatnot?

Stay off the roads if you can help it, and bring bug spray.
Other than that, it's a cakewalk.
Also, the further back into the property you go, the better it gets.

like Baldran said, stay off the roads where you can (can't always do that), and stay away from the juvi center and job corps center and you should be fine.

there used to be a bar/grill on the main rd (laurel fort meade rd) where we would park and walk in, but its now a moose lodge so i am unsure if you can get away with parking there or not. there are cops that patrol on the property because part of the site is used for juvie/baby jail and they have literally ZERO sense of humor.

Did they reopen that jail?! I had so much fun there at DCMU many years ago. As far a the good old hospital (which i have rarely heard its real name spoken on here as it had it's infamous Uer name or still does)
Anyhow I think i explored forest haven more then anywhere else back in the day and am curious how did the explore go? I'd be down for a trip down memory lane by revisiting ...what kind of shape is it in these days

What was the UER name for FH? In regards to the jail, there's one nearby that's been closed and one that's been active for years.
FH has gone way downhill over the last couple of years. If you were exploring it more than 5 years ago, you'll be sad to see what it looks like now (the pristine chapel is now destroyed). Some of the iconic shots aren't around anymore.
