marietta bowling alley

Hi! I've been exploring for a couple years, but never really documented anything because I was real paranoid when I started. But now so many of my favorite spots have been demolished or gutted, and I'm regretting not taking pictures beforehand, so I've decided to start. These are just phone pictures, but I'll be looking for better equipment down the line. Last night I checked out an abandoned bowling alley near my friend's house, it was pretty gutted on the inside but showed some evidence of the original structure. I definitely wouldn't recommend driving a great distance to find it, but if you're around Marietta, it's a neat little spot to stop by.

I would love to explore with new people, so if anyone around the Atlanta area feels like meeting up, please get in touch! Especially if you also ride a motorcycle because an all-biker adventure squad sounds kinda kickass. (edit: also i'm not really a grandpa, i'm a 22-year-old lesbian, but if you're an urbex biker grandpa please be my friend)

Nice find! I am in the Marietta area, looking for places to explore and people with whom to explore the places.

and I make three in the Marietta area. I smell a meet up in our future!

Cool find. Marietta is not known to leave derelict buildings for very long. It seems by the time the building occupants are out, the bulldozers are in! Boo.

Thanks for sharing your pics. Have any others from the bowling alley. I think I know the one you shot and it was a childhood favorite.

I might have a couple others left from the bowling alley, there honestly wasn't too much there to look at. If you're in Marietta though it is very easy to access and fun to stop by!

I'd love to do a meetup sometime if y'all are down! My old team is really scattered to the wind and of the people I go exploring with now, I'm the only one actively scouting locations.

Sounds great! I don't have a "team" so much as a rotating random assortment of people who might be willing to brave tetanus and a civil citation for the sake of adventure every now and again!

Are the lanes still kind of intact? Might make for some interesting photos, even if it's dark. Also, I see it's in a kind of busy area.

I'm down for a Marietta Meet Up! I've been so bogged in work and personal CRAP lately - I need mental safe haven. Let's 'splore!

I know I may be a little late to this thread, but I would love to head out with some of you North Atlanta guys and gals sometime. I know I'm fairly new but I do have about a dozen locations that aren't in the LDB, for new members at least.
