If im somewhere suburban or rural, it doesn't really matter to me. If I'm in the middle of a town or city looking at a big building, I always try to avoid roofs and windows. Windows are less of an issue because they seem to be boarded a lot of the time.

I've had mixed experiences with roofs. One time got spotted by a neighbor who called the cops, but luckily I really wasn't trying to enter and was up there for no real reason other than I wanted to see if I could climb it. Nonetheless, as I was coming down the cops ran around the corner of the building with guns drawn, order me to the ground. Since they could verify I hadn't attempted to break in and didn't have anything on me (such as tools or spray paint), I got let off with a stern warning. However, on a different occasion a quick shuffle onto the roof saved me me from getting caught by security and probably arrested. There was an entire neighborhood set to be bulldozed for a new wal mart; my friends and I (we were all around 18 and 19 years old at the time) used to sneak into the emptied houses and mainly just made a game of avoiding the watchmen. One night there were two on duty and unexpectedly trapped us by coming from both ends of the street. We darted through a backyard and onto a roof and had to just sit up there for a good half hour while the two guards talked in the street after they lost us, unaware that we were watching them from above haha. Good times!

Wait, they dress like that? Shit, my regular attire is a polo and tan or green cargo shorts. Surely we nonbigots can wear polos and khakis without being mistaken for neonazis, right?

Just post a picture on Facebook of your normal daily dress. If it's offensive I guarantee someone will yell at you about.
To add to the conversation: Silhouettes in windows are very noticeable. If you're trying to be stealthy avoid windows. Flashlights shining out through a window might as well be the bat signal.
