This magnificent 20 square acre site was constructed in 1905 and supplied power to all of the lower garden district and much of downtown by itself up until 1973. Currently owned by developer Joe Jaeger, this location remains lightly protected and hits high in the list of New Orleans' most spectacular abandoned locations. Sorry for the sheer number of pictures I have. These are my best pictures of my combined visits here. I've probably been here about twenty-five times in the past (almost) year. Anybody else been here? I know this is one of the locations we have that is nation-wide known. 1.

I'm still having problems with my vertical images coming out sideways. I'm going to make it a point to use photbucket or flickr in the future.

I suggest you use Flickr. From what I've gathered, photobucket has begun requiring money for 3rd party hosting of images. Also flickr has better image quality
