Oh, I saw one of those at an old plantation I stayed in a couple weeks ago in Mississippi. Since it wasn't abandoned and actually used for guests, they were kind enough to enclose it in glass. Kinda weird, but also thoughtful of the host...

Haha, something like that!

I thought it might have some significance to the history of the place but I forgot to ask about it before I left. Ulysses S Grant stayed in the same room I stayed in and this house played some kind of role in the Battle of Vicksburg (American Civil War), so maybe it’s related somehow. I shined a flashlight down there and didn’t see anything but a foot or two of space and dirt.
