Okay ladies and germs (I just like bugging thegerm), Edmonton section is happening this upcoming weekend, July 1st-2nd, 2017. We are discussing on the private thread some of the specifics, timing, who's coming, etc.
If you are not a full member and would like to attend, send me a PM and we'll get you looped in. Especially if you would like to come from YYC, as we'll carpool up on Saturday and back down some time Sunday, or maaaaybe early Monday morning. Depends. ;)
As mentioned, let's pencil Calgary for the weekend of August 12th; mark your calendars!

Have fun guys! Wishing I could be there.
germ was correct in that is very fertile out here in the GTA. There's a beautiful abandoned golf course and country club just across the street from my place, as well as 5 abandoned farmhouses within walking distance. Sadly most of the farmhouses are surprisingly well secured; but the country club is fantastic.
I'm only here for a year so I'll see you all in 2018

My vehicle got wrecked by a dump truck this morning. I'll see how bad the whiplash is tomorrow and if I'm still good for Saturday if I can get another car.

Oh shiiiit! Dude that sucks. Take some advil and get some rest, whiplash is no joke. (Hopefully you aren't going in to work until it's manageable)

That's so brutal. Sorry to hear that. Whiplash always seems worse a few days later so take care of yourself.

heres the video lol. The truck pulls out as im shoulder checking. When I look forward again and try to stop, the abs locks up over the expansion joints so i just try to do a glancing blow but hook up on the rim.
I feel better today hopefully i don't get worse.

Oh shiiiiiit. You can clearly see your green light for the intersection!
Really glad you got it on video. There was no way you would have made that regardless of lane or speed, he just gave 'er right into the intersection.

Probably your standard gloves, dark clothes, flashlight, camera, water. I think we'll save the draining for Calgary

Nicknolte and I headed up and eight of us had a great meetup over the Canada Day weekend in Edmonton! We hit a couple known sites and a couple new ones, with mixed success.
Steed had his camera out for the first few hours as we scouted, so I only ended up snapping a few pics from one site we visited around sunset.

Thanks t4oh! Wish you coulda been there! Not that we hit any groundbreaking sites, but we did have some tasty pancakes after a solid 60min wait at the restaurant..

In barely-related news, the Calgary section may include a trip to Medicine Hat. So mentally prepare yourselves for that.
It will probably also involve some drains during the day, I'll see if I can't drag nicknolte through some drains in July and find one worthy of the meet.

Okay homies!
It's CALGARY TIME.
As rumoured, Saturday, August 12th, the South section of Alberta Meetup '17 is going down, and Nicknolte and I have made sure it's gonna be poppin'!
Let us know if you can come down and when, we'll eat some food and be sure not to trespass, nor document any trespassing with photos before sharing those photos here.
Looking forward to maybe having some of the less active YEG folks maybe line up with Technomancer and Germ for a ride down here? And maybe there are a few newer or less-active people in YYC that would like to tag along. You're more than welcome!
Expect some buildings that have either aged out or sat empty for years, and one or two Calgary drains that have been previously reviewed as Incredible and Terrific! So bring your gum boots! And maybe a helmet if you're so inclined, but it's not required. No draining experience necessary, I will be your guide!
