went with Void Diver and Primal Faith. previously owned by a cement company it closed sometime before world war 2. The ruins are located on private property so permission from the owner needs to be obtained. I feel like this is a well known spot in the bay and is definitely known by "artists". Wish the I could have seen this place when it wasn't covered in paint. The structures seem bigger in person in my opinion. Also, loved the overgrown aspect that this location has. This location includes the following: - silos - a pond - a wooden roofed dome - large cement archways - walls - abandoned house
the tall silos one of the very large archways. human for comparison of size.
inside the light dome. another human for comparison. other half of the light dome
an owl I almost accidentally stepped on!
assorted pictures of the arches and other aspects of this location: 1.

Lastly, there was an abandoned house-like structure that had bars inside of it. That aspect made it feel like more of a jail.
I apologize that my uploads still aren't a better quality, I am working on it!

Oh I love this place! I actually haven't been out there since the early 2000's and wow had it changed "art" wise!

My thoughts exactly.... Permission is awesome and all but totally not needed for this site (or most sites) as of my last visit
Check out my photo blog! |

I never said I asked for permission. Just an option!

why? looks like plenty of taggers went there to vandalize it with their art, did they get permission from the owner too?

Better to ask the right person for permission than to ask the wrong person for forgiveness. And sometimes it's best to not get ask or get caught... the one that got away

I don't usually get permission when I go anywhere, like mentioned I'd rather apologize later on than get denied entry

Not only that but if you get denied permission and are caught in the premises later, you're in a lot deeper than you would have been if you didn't ask permission.

Once you get taken down with a 12 gauge shotgun pointing at your chest from 10 feet away you might rethink the idea that saying you're sorry is always going to work. It doesn't. I can verify that. Permission can give you free reign and the opportunity to get one of a kind images. Regardless if you ask or not, it's still would be trespassing most times. A verbal trespass warning means the owner doesn't want you there; it's their gig. Getting arrested can be stressful and expensive. The 12 gauge was the least of my worries although I did my best not to make him feel threatened. A hard take down hurts... and that's just the start. You lose your freedom even for just a few hours and then see what you think. I've done both ways and then some. Sometimes finding the owner is impractical or impossible. I've secured permission twice through the state and local police that had control of the properties. It's much easier to chat with the police chief before you are arrested rather then after Never steal what you can have for free...

I went there today! It was super easy and I saw 3 people but they didn't see me! I have pictures but my computer is currently broken so I will post them later!

I love this spot. When I lived in the bay area I used to go all the time. One of the things I miss about being up there.

Visited this spot today. They were doing some construction, but not a typical kind of it. They are building a stage of some sort in the center of the plant. I had heard that the property owner throws events here occasionally, and it appears that they are trying to make it a more official venue.

They are building a huge "town center" there, with a new neighborhood, school, and community center. I'd post a link but that would reveal the location (can I? since it is going to be gone very soon and is tagged over already?).

there have been multiple newspaper articles about it, so I doubt it'd be a problem, but who knows

It would be a shame if the spray paint painters that spray paint over spray paint and the concrete scrappers got word of this place....

Looks like fun. That owl you found is a baby great horned.
