The Docks are Dry

This was from a daytrip last weekend with Bear Grylls & Primal Faith, quite different from previous outings. There is a lot of ground to cover here, could have spent hours here if it weren't for a slight scare that ended our time there. A big bonus to this spot was finding boats that were moved from a different popular location.

These are awesome shots! 1 & 6 are my favorites.

Pretty cool.
Too bad you couldn't have made onto the tugs.

Fun location. I bet the light and shadows get interesting at different times of day.

I really like the fact that you gave the images some tone and color. Putting in the time in post really separates these from the regular "point and shoot" pictures.

Did you make it onto the boats at all?

I actually didn't modify any tone or coloration here, I usually just keep my 35mm film shots exactly how they are. I truly enjoy how it naturally looks on this format.
Anywho, one of us made it onto the boats by doing some ballsy maneuvers, but this time around all the doors on the boats are sealed up. The interiors are very lovely from previous explores though, lots & lots of stuff left behind with timestamps from a few decades ago. Makes me wish abandoned boats were more abundant.

Wow, I've been looking at digital filters for so long I just assumed this was a clean post edit (the nice smooth color shift in the shadows and the even tone across the whole image). Your film scans are so clean, looks like you've got your color profiles dialed in.

Speaking of boats- you been to Coos Bay?

yeah this place was a lot of fun. the two tugs are of the three that used be located at the location known as gats warehouse. I've been on them too, very interesting how much supplies, tools, and food was just laying around in them. Also one of the engine rooms seemed flooded making me wonder how it was still afloat. Possible the reason only two remain.

here is the gats warehouse thread:

the second reply by btraut has some great photos of the tugs, as well as void diver's photo dump.

here are some of the digital photos from that day. I haven't gotten around to developing my film rolls yet.

Damn you ruined it.
I thought it was something latently dangerous maybe alien.

I just passed through there. Seems like it holds some potentially good items to explore.

After getting on the boats I wasn't able to make it inside of the ship as VoidDiver said, however I did manage to get inside of the helm. Nothing too interesting but thought id contribute.
