#4 is a wreck! Any idea what happened to make a whole street (or more?) abandoned?

This probably isn't 100% accurate, but it's a neighborhood in a small town that's a suburb of Pittsburgh that was always a steel worker and coal mining town. My father grew up there and this neighborhood was a "black neighborhood" when he was growing up in the 50s and 60s. It was abandoned for unknown reasons before he went to college in 1969. Eventually, there were more people living there but not sure if they were squatters that took it over or what. Then I think everybody pretty much left again (probably when the local steel company was sold to China) and then a couple years ago there was a big fire that destroyed half of the remaining houses. The town got a federal or state grant to tear the place down and build apartments or condos there as part of a town revitalization project and I assume the fresh orange numbers spray painted on each house is part of that process. These pics were taken early this month and I don't expect the neighborhood to be there the next time I visit. That's all based on what my father remembered growing up and what friends and relatives in the area said about the fire and grant.

Looks like a great place to wander, interesting back story too.

Yikes, there's not much left of the joint! I see someone yanked all the police tape down.
Here's one that I took of the front through a windshield.
