Introductions
entry by MidSouthUrbex

Hello to anybody stumbling upon this log. This is the log of MidSouthUrbex and will chronicle our adventures. As the name implies we are from the MidSouth, Arkansas specifically. We are just two explorers who enjoy taking photographs and seeing how time can effect things. We got into Urbex almost a year ago now and just now found this forum page. It really is excellent, and we look forward to being a part of the community. This log will be updated fairly regularly and we will respond to comments, that is if we get any. Like I said we are excited to get involved and learn what we can and explore often. Enjoy the log, there will be pictures with most logs and we will write as detailed as we can. Thank you for reading,
MidSouthUrbex

Welcome!
So, I have to ask... how many of you are included in, "we?"
Just curious.

I live in Texas but find myself in the AR area (usually the SW or South sections) quite often. I look forward to seeing some new posts from that area. I don't think Arkansas gets the credit it deserves when it comes to interesting abandonments and locations.

There are two of us, and on occasion a third tags along. We are located more centrally, but would like to take a few trips south sometime soon, and would be interested in knowing what you've seen down around the s or sw. I also dont think Arkansas gets much credit, as theres 11 posts here, and I feel theres alot more than that in Arkansas. Though, granted, Arkansas has a lot of small stuff, like cabooses and other small buildings. Though we are excited to look around a bigger building, such as a hotel or park. We sadly never made it to the Majestic in Hot Springs before it burnt and was torn down, and are looking for another bigger place. We are interested to hear what you know and if all goes well a post should go up tonight or tomorrow with a few pictures. Thanks,
MidSouth

The Majestic may be gone now, but you definitely don't have to look very far from its memory to find some of the best Arkansas has to offer. I can think of more locations within 50 miles of the Majestic site than probably anywhere else in the southern US as far as great spots go.

Most of them are much closer than that even.
I have at least half a dozen locations on my bucket list over there.

I am interested to hear your bucketlist of places, as I am collecting a list of places to go and visit.

Hot Springs and Texarkana host the majority of them, but the entire Delta/Mississippi river region has lots of great spots too - on both sides of the river.
