All the help you guys can give would be lovely.. (maybe even taking the duties into your own hands since I'm pretty far out of the way too lol) Just about to turn 19 so I don't know if my planning skills alone could make this successful..

I'm keeping a list of interested parties. MaineUrbex, I recommend you hook up with some of the other Maine explorers and plot out as many locations as you can that are not high security. Stay close to the southern border if you can so us MA, CT, and RI guys/girls can make it in a couple of hours. We'll meet at the middle of the locations and sent teams out from there with the Member who knows the location. We'll only need three or four sites, with one or two backups in case we get chased out of one. These are things you can do to get us started. No need to worry about a date at this point, and if we get enough locations we can make it a two day affair.

Anyone with knowledge of sites just over the border and will contribute to the site collection can help...PM messages ONLY on location info.

Personally I think this would be a better Meetup if it was in MA or CT. Maine really only has one site to offer but it's only about a two hour explore and it's severely trashed. Also, only two people from Maine have showed interest while almost everyone is in either MA or CT

I looked at the places I know of and have on my map and there's a few in Maine but they are all far between and some are on islands which adds ferry time. Few are of any great size for a group either. Likewise with New Hampshire. I have no issue going on explores in CT, MA or RI. Only timing would be a consideration.

Well, we need to pick a meeting place that is pretty equidistant from a few
spots. If we take Westfield MA for the epicenter and go 50 miles in any direction I'm sure we'll have what we need. I have a nice little paper mill in my area I throw in the pot, now you guys need to PM me some suggestions, pretty much anything from almost Worcester south to CT border, west to Lee, even Albany for a stretch, and north to Pittsfield, Deerfield. My pm awaits your contributions. KURTZ

This section of the forum isn't just for New England, even though everyone expressing an interest in this does seem to be from the New England states thus far. I think we need to include NY, NJ, DE and PA in this too. I generally travel to NY or PA almost every weekend anyway because I've burnt out Mass, RI and CT. I think we should be looking somewhere around NYC as a gathering point. Once it's a little warmer I'll be more interested in this and I might even bring the turd as a place to gather:

If it's warm enough I might bring the boat too. There's some interesting islands around NYC that I've been wanting to see.

I've wanted to check out the NY area for awhile now. I would be interested in this. But... we should still not rule out a meetup in new england clearly a lot of people have shown interest and personally I think it would be a blast to explore with all of you!

"I've burnt out Mass, RI and CT"

Would you care to share a site or two in the area I'm looking at?
There's some new members up for this trip that would really appreciate that.

OK, all who've shown interest to this point are listed for entry in the NEMU-17 Forum. Go to "forums" scroll to the bottom to NEMU-17 forum and check in. Let's confine our chat to that forum.

Is that forum private? It's not showing up for me.

(I'm interested in a meetup if that isn't obvious)

Hey, not sure if I'm too late to the party, but I'd love to attend if it's still possible. Been hoping to go to a meetup since I first registered
