Looking for a somewhat inexpensive tripod that I can easily carry around bandos and can extend quickly. I have a canon t2i if that makes any difference. Thanks

I carried a Targus tripod (sold at walmart) for a few years before I found the one I wanted and saved money for it. It gave m the ability to have a tripod but not spend money on one until I got the one I wanted.
If I recall correctly it was about $20 bucks.
But you're not going to find a nice tripod for less than about $100. My current one is on the low end, but it's a damn good tripod, for me (compact enough for me to carry it in my backpacks).
You bring your price up to $100 and you will have a much larger selection than at $50. There's a good number of tripods in the $75-$100 range, to be certain.
IT also depends on what you're looking for. Small? Super sturdy (enough to put in water in drains and not have shake)? Tall? I assume you don't want twisty legs since you want quick, so snap legs.
But if you just need one for a segue then the walmart one is sufficient.

The tripod you are looking for is a Dolica Proline AX620B100. Solid metal construction... no plasticy bullshit except for (unfortunately) the quick-lock extension clips. Very importantly though, it has a ball-head and it has a quick-release plate. You absolutely NEED that or you're going to go insane. The tripod is heavy, but that isn't a drawback. It holds up nicely in high winds. It has a hook underneath the main stalk to hold a heavy weight, if you want to give it extra sturdiness. There are a bunch of other features as well that you'll like, including releases to allow the tripod legs to spread out really far (so that you can get close to the ground) and retractable spike plates on the bottom of the legs so that you can choose to go with sharp spears for outdoor stability, or regular rubber soles for indoor.

The problem is that Walmart currently shows it as out of stock, but look around. Find other places that carry it. I'm going on my 5th tripod, because this hobby beats the living shit out of them. I did my research hard this time, and weighed out all kinds of options. Trust me, the work is done for you. Now you just have to find out. But look hard, as you won't find better value for the money.

I am going to throw my suggestion in here.
I use a Manfrotto tripod, I know that the brand name itself makes people gasp and see dollar signs, but the one I have is not too pricey. It is above the $50 mark that you mentioned, but not by much!
It folds up quite compact and fits nicely in a suitcase or slung on the side of a backpack. I like the ball head quite a bit as well.
Legs are tubes and not channel type like I see on a lot of economy tripods, this helps it feel very solid.
One thing that I wish it did have was a hook to hang a bit more weight off underneath the head. I am sure I could rig something up, but I am lazy. There are some times that I would like to have a little more mass to help stabilize.
When I bought mine it was $80, Amazon now has it listed for less than $65. I might order a second one.

Since we are on the subject, we have one at my office that we use when we are laser scanning on location. I WANT ONE. It is carbon fiber and crazy light, but also about $1,000.

Find an old broadcast tripod. You can get those for cheap on eBay, and because they were designed for heavy TV cameras: they'll keep a DSLR steady in an earthquake. Sure you're limited on movements and positions, but it'll get you by. It also got annoying after a while having to loosen the camera screw to turn it for portrait orientation, but you can always get a ballhead for that.

+1 for the Dolica. I've had one for about 6 years now. Brought it with my to well over 100 locations. It's beat to shit and still holds up.
I recently upgraded to a Manfrotto aluminum tripod because i needed something a bit taller, but the Dolica is a beast for the money.
Replace the head with something better though, the one it comes with takes too long to move around. I suggest a pistol grip Manfrotto head, they are the best.

I bought a Neewer tripod from Amazon for $65.00. That has been great so far, and I am able to fold it to strap on the side of my backpack.

It looks very similar to the Dolica with ball head, and I think there is probably not much difference. The ball head is an advantage to me and you can find a cube level ($10) to fit on the hot shoe rather than the bubble on the tripod it helps.

I had a sub $100 Manfrotto, made the mistake of buying another one after that broke. I have a sour taste when I think of Manfrotto, there's just a whole lot I do not like about them, both in their cheap stuff and their higher end stuff.
I ended up buying a Benro and haven't regretted it since. It was $199 and has traveled to Canada 4 times and a few European countries all while holding heavy medium format cameras. It's not $50 but when you buy a real tripod definitely stop by a shop and give these a shot.

I like to save money so I ordered my tripod from Amazon. It cost almost 2 times cheaper than in the store. If I were a successful businessman, I probably wouldn't think about such small things.
