Aside from draining, Edmonton itself is tough. Like we all know, almost everything cool that would be a good opportunity for exploration gets torn down fast or is blanketed with security. It does bring the added benefit however that whenever you do find something, it's that much more sweet. Surrounding area can have some cool stuff if you're willing to do some aimless driving in the country side.

I've done a fair bit of aimless driving recently in the area. Usually all within an hour of the city. I've also been walking the inner city at lunch and there's a fair number of empty places but not sure on POE.
