Hey there!!! I'm a California native who made a long drive from San Jose to Houston last week. Just thought I would share some pictures that I snapped while in this surprisingly large state. (12 hours to get from El Paso to Houston, seriously??) 1.

Haha, having lived in California and born and raised in Texas, I can honestly say I know that route quite well, coming from both the north (through CO) and the south (AZ/NM). It's not for the faint of heart, especially if you're driving it alone! Are you still in Texas? If you are and have a little time going back to CA, stop in Big Bend (lots of crazy abandoned stuff if you look hard enough, as well as just photogenic landscape). West Texas is a treasure trove of interesting spots - much of it abandoned once the oil boom came to a halt in many of these now ghost towns - not to mention - the birth of the interstate. I know it's a bit late, but welcome to Texas!

I meant to also say, great photos. I don't think I recognize those locations, but I'm guessing you traveled a bit more south than I would normally go (as you said, Texas is pretty damn big, lol). I-10 or parallel to it? If you make the trip again and weather permitting, try the northern route. You can even run into old Route 66 up in the panhandle. I particularly like the books photo as well as the windows with the light streaming in. I'm guessing that most of these pics are photos of a school? Nice work!

Abandoned gas stations and schools. We have a lot of both of those! I am familiar with the school you visited, but I like your pictures better than mine. Thank you for sharing.
